Mat Rowell is an experienced operator with a wealth and diversity of experience in the human and community services industry. Mat leads with his head, heart and hands and demonstrates authenticity and integrity in his work and his life.
Mat is recognized as a leader in his field and has worked with all levels of government and all political parties in providing advice, advocating policy, implementing government initiatives and engaging productively and successfully in shaping and influencing policy.
Mat is an experienced CEO and Board Director. As the former CEO of the Tasmanian Council of Social Service, former CEO of Relationships Australia Tasmania (for over ten years) and as a member and Chairperson of a number of Boards in the not for profit sector, both locally and nationally, there are no challenges that Mat has not dealt with or that he has not had experience with.
Mat has also worked inside government at the most senior level in Premier and Ministers offices as a Senior Advisor, Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief of Staff, and understands the policy and the political process.
Mat has tertiary qualifications in Social Work, in Community Sector Management, is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, won the State and National Not for Profit Leader of the Year Award in 2017 and has studied at Harvard Business School in an intensive residential program.
